Established in 2017, the Kern Education Pledge was signed by leaders from Kern’s 46 school districts, CSU Bakersfield, Kern Community College District, West Kern Community College District, charter schools, and the larger community, who have committed to working together as one system to improve outcomes for all students as they move through the cradle to career education system.

Free Tutoring/Homework Help
Free 24/7 online tutoring - Every Californian can now access free online tutoring at any hour of the day, thanks to a new initiative offering educational resources to K-12 students and adult learners. The resource is part of an investment in public libraries announced Monday by California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Real-time homework help is now available "on the websites of any of the 1,130 local public libraries around the state," and at this link here provided in Newsom's statement. The HelpNow pilot program currently offers help in Math and Language Arts, in English and Spanish, at any time of the day or night. Help for "other core K-12 subjects" is available between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog, with no age limit to who can take advantage of the resource.
Migrant Education is an important program at our school. Let the student's school office know if you think your family is eligible and they can set up an appointment to enroll you.
TCSD offers a comprehensive Migrant Education Program that includes an Extended Day, Pre-Kindergarten, and Summer School. These aspects of the program complement the district's planned events that provide opportunities for students and parents to build capacity for extending learning.
For students, the district includes field trips to universities and places where connections may be made and learned skills applied, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) events, and other resources/services.
For parents, the Migrant Education Program provides a Parent Advisory Committee, Family ELA and Math Nights, and various other parent trainings throughout our County Region that create access to services and education.

Don't Forget to Fill Out Your Student's Emergency Card
Each student must have an emergency contact card on file in their school office.
The full name and phone number of three friends, relatives, or neighbors other than the parent or guardian who can act on the parent's behalf in an emergency are required as well as the student's address and phone number. Emergency cards are to be completed at the beginning of the school year (or when a student enrolls during the year).
All information concerning a doctor, practitioner, or hospital emergency room must be filled in and signed by a parent or guardian. Authorization is also required to permit the school to obtain immediate medical attention in emergency situations. Any changes or additions in address, phone number, emergency contacts, and places of employment should be reported to the school as soon as possible to ensure that information is current at all times.
