At Lincoln, 6th-8th grade students are provided an opportunity to join the AVID academic elective to help level the playing field for minority, rural, low-income, and other students without a college-going tradition in their families. AVID targets students in the academic middle--B, C, and even D students--who have the desire and the willingness to work hard toward college and career readiness.
