The purpose of the Student Assistance Team (SAT) is to help students with academic, behavior, or other concerns. The team consists of classroom teachers, the school principal, and other districts and community resources as needed.
Meetings are held to help teachers, parents, and students address their concerns. At times, the outcome of the SAT meeting is a referral for a special education assessment. However, the team's primary purpose is to assist students in meeting their academic and behavior needs within the general education setting.
Parents and/or teachers who feel that a student should be referred to the SAT may initiate the process by contacting the school principal or team coordinator.
